What a memorable AGM!

Most of the participants did arrive on Wendesday, where we started with delicious dinner at
Martin’s Tavern in Georgetown. JFK proposed there to his wife Jacky (who obviously accepted). We could very good understand JFK had chosen this venue due to excellent food, nice and cosy interior and friendly staff.

On Thursday, our tour Guide Ron presented us the main historic spots of Washington, including a spontaneous visit of the Supreme Court. Followed by a tasty lunch the afternoon we had some time off until the Grill dinner at the Historic Old Ebbitt Grill

On Friday, we had a very impressive lecture of Lehter about The Federalist System, State’s Rights, the Civil War and the Death of Row v. Wade. The Implications for a Divided America, followed by a active and lively discussion of the participants, ending that education is one of the most important keys (apart from Swiss chocolate of course). Afterwards we visited the Ford’s Theatre. While some members went for shopping, other visited on of the Smithsonian Museums. For dinner we took the boat followed by a wealk through Alexandria. The dinner at Historical Colonial Pub Union Street Public House was tasty and accompagnied with a lot good talks and laughter.

After the AGM we had again time off to endevaour the city by our owns. Some went to see the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the U.S.A. and the Bill of Rights, others touch base with one of the many memorials. The closing dinner an Geoff’s was as delicious as had we a lot of good talks and laugher.

Again thanks to Lether and his team for those “memoriable” days we had in Washington D.C.
