Cooperation beyond domestic borders since 1982
The IAPL was established in 1982 as an organisation of European lawyers operating in the European Community (the forerunner of the E.U.). At this stage, the intention was to assist co-operation and develop bonds between European lawyers, improve members’ knowledge of European legal systems and processes and provide clients with access to trusted legal services throughout Europe.
The IAPL has now expanded beyond Europe to reach a variety of countries worldwide. We remain a vibrant and active organisation much valued by our members.
